A successful non-profit for more than 50 years, Systems Unlimited partnered with Meld to refresh its brand identity, build its brand foundation and tagline, create a new website and blogs, ignite its organic and paid social media, and redesign newsletters, brochures, and other marketing elements to create a consistent look and feel.
As one of the largest organization in Eastern Iowa, Systems Unlimited also asked Meld to build out a careers, employment, and recruiting marketing strategy. Meld outlined the value proposition of why to choose the organizational built out a multi-tiered area in the website to speak directly to potential employees.
The most difficult step for any legacy organization is to decide when or if it’s the right time to rebrand. Meld walked the leadership team through a discovery session to assess if now was the time. Together, it became clear a brand evolution
was needed.
After conducting surveys, interviewing leaders, and talking with teams, Meld proposed the new tagline Live Your Best Life to speak directly to the organization’s vison or how it wants to come alongside those they serve. We kept the blue, but altered it to elicit the happiness that living your best life evokes. We also leaned into a sun wrapped in a flower, which was part of the original logo. These two elements came together to create something uniquely Systems Unlimited. We also replaced the green with a bright yellow, again leaning into the positive energy and opportunities the organization creates.
Meld developed a brand foundation to create authentic and consistent messaging across platforms and throughout their organization. At the core was the brand promise: For more than 50 years, Systems Unlimited has been a leading, non-profit social service agency (and employer) in Eastern Iowa that delivers personalized and individualized care for people of all ages with physical and mental disabilities using a distinctive 1-on-1 matching approach that ensures loved ones are connected to the right people, the right support, and the right living environment so they have the resources and freedom to live their best life.
Systems Unlimited needed a dyanmic brand guide that could capture and explain all the ways they can live the new look and use the new messaging. The guide is also something they can share with vendors to ensure the brand stays consistent.
Systems Unlimited has nearly 1,000 employees. The organization wanted to ensure that people knew they could not only apply for a position here, but they could also build a lifelong career. Meld developed the phrase: Start a Purpose-Driven Career at Systems Unlimited. This came out of surveys and interviews that told us the number one reason people chose to work here is because it was “purpose driven.” We also built out language around the exceptional employee benefits and perks and created strong calls to action.
Meld worked closely with System’s HR group throughout the process to create strong content that would resonate.
Meld created a site map based on optimizing the user experience, building content that matters, and ensuring positivity lept from the pages. We wanted to show real people working with actual team members. Artists and the art they create there. The leadership team. The adventures, fun activities, and employment and living opportunities around. We also wanted to make it easy for users to ask questions, contact someone, learn more, apply, donate, and more.
Systems Unlimited is all about the human experience. It’s about all of the special moments that happen every hour of every day. Our main strategy for photo was to show the real interactions that occur. The way Systems Unlimited is there to ensure all people can live their best life to whatever degree it is possible.
