Shop Iowa, powered by the state of Iowa and fueled by hundreds of small businesses, teamed with Meld to better define themselves, their messaging, and their visual identity. We also helped identify new ways for their internal marketing group to raise awareness about their business, their mission, and their products. Meld conducted a discovery session and then provided a comprehensive road map, including a strategic approach for a pilot marketing campaign. The goal of Shop Iowa (shopiowa.com) is to bring the vibrancy of small town shops online, making it easy for people to shop local from anywhere. With the largest collection of quality Iowa products, Shop Iowa makes a difference for consumers, businesses and communities in Iowa and beyond.
Member Marketplace Co-Founders Cherie and Robert Edilson manage the Shop Iowa site through an agreement with the state of Iowa. They have also created marketplace websites in partnership with states and economic development organizations across the nation — all with a goal to help small businesses who don’t have a way to sell online. Meld’s work focused on Shop Iowa with the idea that lessons learned on the Iowa site can be applied to future sites in other states.
